STORY
Fortis Property Management was formed in 2021 by way of joining Varden Capital Properties and JEM Holdings. Prior to being rebranded as Fortis, Hammond Residential Group, founded in 2007, successfully managed over 9,000 units throughout the Southeast and was responsible for overseeing the disposition of over 35 properties.
Fortis’ management team brings over three decades of national property management experience specializing in multifamily assets including new construction, conventional, reposition, and renovations.

Mikael Levey is the founder, owner, and CEO of JEM Holdings, a New York City-based real estate investment company focused on developing and acquiring multifamily properties. JEM also controls several Hotels and office buildings through its subsidiary, JEM Joint Ventures. Mikael oversees all aspects of both JEM Holdings and JEM Joint Ventures. Since its inception in 2011, JEM has acquired fifty-four properties, comprised of over 9,600 existing multifamily housing units and multiple office buildings, and has completed or is under construction on over 2,220 multifamily units.
In 2021, JEM Holdings launched Fortis Property Management in order to vertically integrate JEM into a full-service real estate investment management company. Mikael serves as Co-CEO for Fortis and is responsible for overseeing the management of over 13,000 multifamily units.
Mikael earned his Master in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Boston University. Prior to founding JEM, Mikael worked at Silverstein Properties, Urban America, Cushman and Wakefield and CB Richard Ellis and has been involved in well over $3B of transactions.

KATHRYN ASHLEY
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
I joined the JEM Holdings team in 2020 and was grateful to be tasked with the challenge of launching Fortis as a new management company in 2021. For me, seeking input from our teams is critical and we often ‘huddle’ to review new initiatives or discuss policy updates/changes, making decisions as a cohesive unit. I enjoy having the opportunity to work closely with our teams and mentor and develop them on an ongoing basis, as I recognize that the success of Fortis as a company is dependent on the success of our individual employees. Fortis has a bright future ahead of us, and I am delighted to be a part of it!

CHRIS HADARITS
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Chris serves as CFO of Fortis and brings over 15 years of industry experience in the financial management and oversight of multifamily properties. Chris has been involved in several disciplines of property management including new construction, development, rehabilitations, and lease-ups. Prior to entering property management, Chris enjoyed a three-year tenure as Controller of Atlanta’s MGA Insurance Company. His diversified background gives Chris excellent perspective, and he plays an integral role in overseeing the accounting staff and providing valuable counsel regarding all financial matters.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Business, specializing in Finance.

KATHRYN MOODY
CONTROLLER
Kathryn serves as the Controller for Fortis and is responsible for managing accounting records and overseeing the production of financial reports. Kathryn oversees all employees involved in the accounting process, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and inventory. Prior to Fortis, Kathryn served as the controller for Hammond Residential Group for over 10 years.
Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of South Carolina.

I have over 10+ years of expertise in human resources and operational management, focusing on result-driven development. With a diverse and promising skill set in administering company policies and procedures, I come to Fortis to continue strengthening and building upon our company's core values and mission. I am honored to be a part of Fortis's continued growth and development. I will support our corporate initiatives through solid communications and a proven track record of increasing productivity and improving company workflow with training modules structured for the organization and our employee's future with Fortis. My role will provide optimal support to executives, organizations, and hiring managers, and I am happy to be amongst a team of strong leaders and visionaries.

I originally began working with JEM Holdings in 2014 and was excited to join the team again once Fortis was launched in 2021. I currently oversee our Raleigh/Durham and Savannah portfolio for JEM Holdings LLC. I have begun my career in 2008 as an assistant manager in Charlotte, NC, and have worked my way up to my current role as a Senior Regional Manager, having a diverse portfolio that consists of vintage, tax credit, and new construction lease-up assets. I am a native of Uruguay, South America, and currently live in Charlotte, NC. My hard work and passion for this business have helped me establish strong connections with clients, striving always to provide exceptional respect, loyalty, and professionalism. I remain excited about the growth in our company and the genuine care and compassion that our teams show for each other and our residents. I love my Fortis family!

ANGELA DICKERSON
SENIOR REGIONAL MANAGER
Angela Dickerson joined the multifamily industry as a leasing agent in 2004 and through hard work and determination now holds the Senior Regional Manager at Fortis Property Management. With her experience and passion for the industry, Angela understands the importance of each position on site and how critical each position plays a part in what it takes to overcome challenges that properties face in diverse markets of all classes. Angela has managed over 7,000 units during her career across the Southeast including Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama. Angela has worked on most asset classes and has in-depth knowledge including value add, re-positions, acquisitions, lease-up, and transition of ownership. Additionally, she is knowledgeable in due diligence analysis and financial analytics. Angela is a licensed Georgia Real Estate Broker with knowledge of both residential and commercial real estate and has her CAM credentials through NAA.

I joined Fortis Management in 2021 as a Regional Manager overseeing properties throughout Maryland and North Carolina. During my time in the field, I have climbed through the ranks, holding positions from Assistant Manager all the way up to my current role of Regional Manager. Jessica Vickery is an accomplished Regional Manager with over 21 years of experience in the multifamily industry, starting her career as a Leasing Professional in 2003. Over the years, she has managed more than 5,000 units across the Southeast, consistently achieving financial performance and operational excellence. Recognized for her expertise in lease-ups, capital improvements, and repositioning, Jessica leverages strategic budgeting, forecasting, and demographic-driven marketing to maximize property value.
Her specialized knowledge in value-add projects, acquisitions, and due diligence analysis facilitates seamless property transitions and successful asset repositioning. With a strong foundation in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L accountability, Jessica drives sustained financial growth. She is equally dedicated to cultivating and mentoring high-performing teams, empowering them to excel in diverse and challenging markets. I’ve had the joy of being a part of the Fortis team since 2017 and have loved growing alongside the company and the team members. TRACE MCCREARY
CO-CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Trace McCreary is the Co-CEO of Fortis Property Management and is also the CEO of Varden Capital Properties (VCP), which he founded in late 2011. He has been responsible for the acquisition of approximately 18,000 apartment units in the Southeast since the beginning of 2012 and the sale of more than 10,000 units. Trace has overseen all aspects of the apartment investing business, including acquisitions, financing, operations, renovations, divestiture and investor relations.
Prior to Fortis and VCP, Trace had a nearly 20-year career on Wall Street as an investment banker doing mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance as a partner at top firms including Salomon Brothers/Citigroup, Credit Suisse First Boston and Barclays Capital. Prior to being an investment banker, Trace was a corporate lawyer at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York.
Trace graduated with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Carleton College in Minnesota in 1989 and with a J.D. from Yale Law School in 1992.
